For those thirsty for knowledge, Geneva has four aces up its sleeve. That’s right, an ace of every suit! Join us at Visit Geneva as we dive into the depths of four museums that are as distinctive as they are unique, symbolizing a city that’s both a laboratory for world peace and the watchmaking capital of the world.
1. The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum

This fascinating museum is the one and only in the world dedicated to the work of Henri Dunant, offering a unique introduction to humanitarian work. In this sprawling building you can discover the actions taken by the Red Cross and explore 150 years of the organization’s history told in a way that will get you thinking while stirring up your emotions.
Three exhibition spaces will take you to straight to the heart of the greatest challenges our society faces – defending human dignity, rebuilding family ties, and limiting the risks of natural disasters. You’ll leave feeling smarter, and with a greater sense of purpose.
International Museum of the Reformation
Believe it or not, the reformation of Christianity, led by Jean Calvin and Martin Luther, has its origins in 16th-century Geneva. We’ve been the center of world politics for longer than most people think!
The International Museum of the Reformation explains this period of reformation and rebirth through historic relics, manuscripts, paintings, and engravings – each displaying the evolution of the Reformation and its impact on the lifestyles of those that lived through it.
Located close to St. Peter’s Cathedral in the Old Town, the museum will transport you to another era and immerse you in the cultural and historic treasures of our city in days past.
